Shared or dedicated vCPU?
Choose a plan →Shared vCPU
Your vCPUs come from a pool of AMD EPYC cores that other virtual machines also use. Most workloads are idle much of the time, so sharing keeps the price low while your machine can still burst when it is busy.
- Websites, blogs and APIs with modest traffic
- Development, test and staging machines
- Small databases, queues and background workers
Dedicated vCPU
Your vCPUs are pinned: each one is a CPU thread on an AMD EPYC core that only your machine uses, and its memory is reserved for it. Performance stays the same whatever other customers run.
- Busy production databases and caches
- CI builds, video encoding and batch jobs
- Anything that keeps its CPUs busy for hours
Both run on AMD EPYC processors with NVMe SSD storage, and both are billed by the hour up to the monthly price. To switch, snapshot the instance and create a new one from the snapshot on a plan with at least as much disk.
Load balancers
$9/moper node
$0.0123/hr billed by the hour, never more than the monthly price
$18/mo per node with intrusion prevention
2 vCPU and 1.5 GiB per node, threat-intel feeds, ban escalation, an account-wide blacklist and protocol IPS rules. Switch an existing load balancer either way; it keeps its IP and settings.
- Includes the load balancer's public IPv4 address and its certificates.
- Billed from create to delete, like an instance. Outbound transfer counts toward your account's transfer allowance.
- Each node is billed on its own: add nodes for more capacity, remove them when you no longer need it.
For comparison, one load balancer node per month: DigitalOcean $12.00, Linode $10.00, Vultr $10.00 (list prices, October 2026).
Add-ons and usage
| Add-on | Price |
|---|---|
| First public IPv4 on an instance | Free |
| Usage | Price |
|---|---|
| Outbound data transfer beyond the included allowance | $0.0090/GiB |
| Additional public IPv4 | $4/mo |
| Snapshots | $0.0600/GB-mo |
| Block storage volumes | $0.0900/GB-mo |
| Object storage (S3) | $0.0900/GB-mo |
How billing works
- Compute is billed for the time an instance runs; a stopped instance is not billed for compute.
- An instance never costs more than its monthly price in a billing period. Its NVMe SSD boot disk is part of the plan.
- Resizing an instance to a larger or smaller plan changes its price to the new plan's from the moment of the change. Growing the disk is permanent: a disk cannot shrink, so afterwards you can only move to plans with at least that disk size. Keep the disk to keep smaller plans available; the price is the plan's either way.
- Each plan includes a monthly transfer allowance, pooled across your account's instances. Outbound transfer beyond it is billed per GiB; inbound transfer and traffic on your private networks are free.
- Block volumes and snapshots are billed per GB-month from creation until you delete them.
- Load balancers are billed per node for the hours they exist, never more than the monthly price per node; their public IPv4 address is included.
